1.Introduction
What would you think of when mentioning Japan?
Japan is famous of many things in the world, like sashimi, Sumo, the Fuji Mountain, hot spring, and so on. Most of them we can’t eat or see or feel if we don’t go to Japan. But there is one thing that we can see it without going there-it is Japanese animation.
I came to Japan in 2009 and before it I never came here. But I think there are many Chinese as me having had a contact with Japan by seeing Japanese animation.
I started to see it from about 9 years old and there are still many memories leaving in my head now, like “Sailor Moon”, “SLAM DUNK”, “Dragonball”, and so on. They gave me happiness and moving, and became a symbol of my childhood.
So to me, I will think of Japanese animation first when mentioning Japan.
2.The start of animation industry
The first animation work was made in 1892 by a French man whose name is pioneer Charles-Emile Reynaud. The name of the work was "Pauvre Pierrot". Then in 1906, America made the first animation film, which is a short silent animation film named "Humorous phases of funny faces". Japan made the first national animation in 1916-1917.
It was in America that the animation became an industry first. Disney became the top of the animation maker in the 1920s. And at that time, including Japan, animation was an import industry to the Asian countries.
3.The history of Japanese animation industry
Though the first animation was made by French, and America make the animation industry earliest, Japanese animation is the best in the world now. There are over 200 animations made in Japan, and the technology became better and better.

Recently the dependence on foreign countries in Japan that about the production of animation becomes intensifying. For example, sending the data of manuscript to the production company in China or Korea, and receiving the data of the animation that be colored. It can be considered that the reason of it is the low cost of labors and the development of the technology in foreign countries.

In Japan, the animation fans make the special animation culture. For example, cosplay started in Japan first and now in the world there are many people doing it. From 2003, there is "World Cosplay Summit" in Nagoya as the venue of world. By this event, Japanese animation becomes a culture and becomes more famous in all the world.
It is very special that the fans make the animation culture because there is no countries except Japan that can make the fans so passionate.
5.Conclusion
Though Japan was not the first country that made the animation, its high technology makes Japanese animation very success. Also the story of Japanese animation is very interesting and imaginative, and the beautiful features and color also appeal lots of people of the world.
Animation can give people happiness, but recently there appeared more and more people who are called "otaku" in Japanese. They trend not to make communications with others and just immerse themselves in the world of manga and animation. This is a problem to the Japanese young people. Maybe this is a task for Japan to solve next.
